Aerodynamics / Wind Tunnels / Flow Control
Spectral Energies engineers and scientists together have more than 100 years of and over 1,000 publications on wind tunnel model design, flow characterization using advanced optical, laser, and plasma based sensors, and flow control methods. They implemented their knowledge and tools in wide range of facilities (e.g., AFRL, NASA, AEDC) with flow regimes ranging subsonic to hypersonic and test sections covering small-scale to large-scale.
Some of the studies in these facilities include aero-optics, weapon-bay cavity, inlets and nozzles, aeroacoustics, laser and plasma based diagnostics development, and small balance system. Modern data analytical tools and machine learning algorithms are routinely used to extract physics from these wind tunnel and aerodynamics data.
